Hello, they are so beautiful! I have always loved them. My niece lives in the Czech Republic and she went around to bead shops and such looking for them for me. Eveyone she asked had never heard of them and didn’t know what she was talking about. Would you have any idea why?
Hi Angela, Czech glass buttons are absolutely gorgeous. They have been made the same way for centuries. The process has never been automated and requires a lot of hard work. It is a cottage industry spread around the northern Bohemia, along the Polish border. These buttons are produced by artists in their houses, basements, back yards, garages etc. They don’t advertise and their shops are hard to find and on top of all this their entire production is shipped to other countries.
