Pantone Color of the year 2015 is MARSALA. Color Marsala gets its name from a wine produced in the region surrounding the Italian city of Marsala in Sicily. City of Marsala with its streets paved in gleaming marble, old architecture and family owned restaurants is a real charmer. Wine produced in the region is commonly used for cooking to create caramelized sauces. There is also a better quality dry and sweet Marsala for drinking. Most of us will agree that, unless you are a connoisseur of wine, Marsala does not sound especially appealing as a fashion name but the color is truly glamorous. The rich, full bodied qualities of Marsala make for an elegant, toned down statement color when used on its own or as a strong accent to many other lighter colors. Please check our post from January 19, 2015 to learn more.
Many celebrities have already taken up on this new color trend, among them Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston who were dressed, for the Critics Choice Awards, in Marsala and Lilac Marble, one of Marsala’s matching colors. They both looked stunning. I let you be the judge who picked a color better reflecting their personality.
The stars are always out to impress and we have to acknowledge them for their killer style! One thing missing is beaded jewelry which would have most certainly added to the effect. Well we understand, they don’t have time for beading and may not even like it.
In our world beading rules and we love it. So if you would like to make some color of the year jewelry look for Marsala-like colors on our website and when you get the beads pour a glass of Marsala wine and bead your heart out, eureka!
Love this blog!!! Very interesting. Keep it up.
