Rhinestone Cup Chain Bracelet (crisscross method) – 2015
This beautiful Rhinestone Cup Chain bracelet is very popular at our bead shows. you can use just about any cord as the base, as long as the hole(s) in button you use are big enough to thread the cord through.
To get the right amount/length of supplies, take a length of string and wrap around wrist. Make it loose enough so that it is comfortable to wear. If you want the bracelet to wrap a few times, wrap the string that many times and remember to loosen for comfort. Mark the string with marker and measure the length.
Here’s what you’ll need: Rhinestone Cup Chain– you will need 2 lengths of the measured amount (we used fuchsia, gold plate and topaz, gold plated) Core Cord (we suggest leather or suede) -double the measured length + 5inches Anchoring string (this is was will hold the chain in place) – atleast 3 times the measured length 1 Button (can be 2-holed or shank)
You will also need super glue and scissors.
Take you core cord and fold in half, creating a loop.Take your anchoring thread. Also fold in half and put around the core cord loop.Now tie a tight knot around the core cord.The loop made by the core cord should be big enough to slip you button through with little resistance.When the loop in the right size dab a little drop of glue on the back. This will enforcer the knot.Take the 2 lengths of cup chain and also glue then onto the core cord. This will keep everything in place whule you work.take the two end of ancorring thread and crisscross them behind the cup chain and core cord.Then bring the to the top and crisscross between the first and second set of rhinestones.Hold the work between your index and thumb fingers to keep your work in place.
After you make your first crisscross in the front, take the to thread end and crisscross in the back again.Continue working the length of the bracelet.Take care to make the back crisscrosses even. Check your work frequently.When you have reached the end, Make you last crisscross and tie a knot in the back. Enforce it with a dab of glue.When the glue is dry trim off the tails of the anchoring thread.Take the core cord and tie them in a knot, close to the last set of rhinestones.Cut the end of your suede or the leather to a point. This will make threading you button easier.If you have a 2 hole button – thread from the back to the front, then into the second hole- from front to back.You will have one cord threaded through the button and the other running along the back.Tie the two tails together to create a knot. This finished the bracelet.Your bracelet is now ready to wear! Enjoy.

For the thread, you can use any beading thin cord or thread like C-lon, S-lon or any thread (like embroidery thread) you have on hand.
