These rhinestone chain bracelets are super cool and really easy to make! They’re also very comfortable to wear because the suede lace makes them really soft.

You don’t need any jewelry making skills or tools so it’s a perfect beginner’s jewelry project!

What you need:

About 3 feet of 3mm microfiber suede lace in your choice of color (for these bracelets, I used natural).

Several 5 1/2 inch lengths of rhinestone cup chain in your choice of color (with the 4mm rhinestone chain, I cut two strands and with the 3mm I used three strands).

And any kind of clasp you prefer! I used a lobster claw clasp for this particular bracelet:

A large lobster claw clasp.

A large jump ring or toggle (I used a leftover toggle piece for which I didn’t have a bar).

For the turquoise bracelet with the 4mm rhinestone chain, I made a button and loop clasp that also works really well.

What you do:

First you take your lengths of rhinestone chain and fit the microfiber suede between the rhinestones and wrap around the back. You want to leave about 3-4 inches of suede lace on the end to make the clasp.

Then, carefully, making sure that the chain stays in place, tie a regular knot at the back of the bracelet, ensuring that the shorter piece of suede goes in out from the bracelet and the longer piece points inward.

Then take the suede lace and continue wrapping it between the rhinestones on the chain.

This is how it will look from the back:

You want to make the suede tight enough so that everything holds together and looks good, but avoid wrapping too tightly because your bracelet may get warped into a spiral itself!

When you get to the end of the rhinestone cup chain, tie the suede off with a regular knot the same way you did at the beginning.

Your bracelet is almost finished!

Now you have to make a clasp. There are lots of ways to do this and you may have your own favorite style that will work in this situation so go ahead and use it! I wanted to make this tutorial as simple as possible so I chose to use a lobster claw clasp with an orphan toggle I had lying around.

Thread the large lobster claw clasp on the suede lace. It helps to cut the lace at an angle to get it through the loop.

Measure the length and fit of your bracelet on your wrist before tying the clasp securely with a regular knot.

Once you do this, you will get a clasp that is kind of hanging off the side of the suede rather than out straight. It’s not a good look.

So, in order to make the clasp more centered, and also to secure the lobster claw better, tie it one more time with a regular knot.

Your bracelet will look more finished with the double knot.

Do the same exact thing on the other end of your bracelet. Make sure you remeasure so that your bracelet is the right size before tying the toggle on.

Try your bracelet on before cutting off the extra lengths of suede lace. Some people add a drop of craft glue to the inside of each knot to make sure it holds through all sorts of wear and tear. This is an especially good idea if you are making these bracelets for gifts or to sell.
